4-H Gardening Workshops for Children!
Beginning Tuesday, April 11, Sandy Copel-Parsons will lead “How to Start Your Garden,” a 6-week series of one-hour gardening workshops for kids ages 6 through 12. Sponsored by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and 4-H, the garden workshop series will be held at Porter Memorial Library, 92 Court Street in Machias. Dates for “How to Start Your Garden” are Tuesday, April 11, April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9 and May 16. Participation is limited to 12 children. All materials will be provided. RMG Student Art Show and Reception!
Art work by Rose M. Gaffney Elementary School pre-K through grade 6 students will be on display at Porter Memorial Library during the month of April. An opening reception for the artists and their families will be held Saturday, April 15 starting at 12:30 p.m.
Movie Afternoon for Children!
Jasmine Studley, a University of Maine at Machias senior, has organized a children's movie afternoon at Porter Memorial Library on Saturday, April 15 using the KissAnime movie website. The movie, “Howl's Moving Castle,” starts at 3 p.m., is free and open to the public. Studley has been an intern at Porter Memorial Library since September 2016.
Machias Valley Film Society April 15th!
Machias Valley Film Society, hosted by Garret Lee, will show another film in its monthly film series at the library starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 15. Call 255-3933 for details. The movie is free and open to the public.
